do i have this right?.

jw are to be completely obedient to the fds.

they are not to question, speak against the teachings of, or disobey the fds.. however, the fds's teachings change and many past teachings are now seen as incorrect.. still, though, jws are to completely and unquestionably obey all teachings of the fds, no matter if they personally believe such are wrong or if they carry severe consequenses.. .

Cult mentality never changes; it’s total control or nothing.

Something else compounding the issue is, when an "adjustment" is made, witlesses are supposed to wholeheartedly obey from the second the change is made; they are given no time to adapt. We can all relate that if you've held a belief for an extended period, you may need time to get used to a new idea.

The attuned generation (miss)teaching is a great example because you've been indoctrinated that YOUR generation will not "pass away" and you may not die either before the end. Now you are being told that what THEY previously taught you is not true and you must stop believing it, or YOU will be spreading a lie; even if you don't have any doubts that's going to take some getting use to. However, according to wash-towel you need to unquestioningly accept it today or else. Or else what? Or else you're wrong, inappreciative, hard-hearted, and are now an unworthy apostate for clinging to what THEY taught you.

Such a loving organization huh?

Catholics know more about WTS history than most JWs do!

Animal sin?

the doctrine of sin = death.. .

if it is the case that the reason people die is due to the original sin of the man adam (romans 5:12) then why do animals also get sick and die of the same illnesses as humans?

did an animal transgress in a similar manner?.

They say jayhoover only promised humans everlasting life.

To this I ask, "Well then is god, who created animal life just so it ca die, an asshole?"

Yes.

They've flip-flopped on the Internet issue.

Now it's "ok" and they want more attention to be diverted to their website.

This means witlesses who have been in the technological dark ages will be venturing out on the web.

We all know why that’s good.

I would like some ideas on celebrating Easter

i have a 9 year old son.

any ideas?.

If your son hasn't been able to celebrate before, just doing any activity that makes him feel included with other children will be great.

However, lots of chocolate, sugar and ham won't hurt either.

ive been thinking the problem is jws look like everyone else.

this makes it too easy for them to merge or forget they are different.

jw kids with long pointy hats cant run or play w/ worldly kids.

What's it going to hurt? Witless kids are already laughing stalks that stick out like a sore thumb.

The constant bullying and utter weirdness are already chasing them away from the borg, why not make them a pariah and just push'em over the edge into going postal?

the reason i ask, is that if you search the wt publications, you will see that it is spelled with only one "p" over 600 times, but also spelled with two "p"s 600 times.. .

very confusing!

So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?

after the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.

" the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.

evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?

Most fall under two categories:

1-Won't discuss it, example: My mom simply won't discuss things she doesn't "get". If you bring it up, you can actually see her get physically uncomfortable and nervously change the subject; she doesn't like being shown she, or they, are wrong. My mom is an intelligent person, so how she can still hold onto their beliefs is baffling.

2-Too mentally lazy/Ignorant, example: My sister, whom I love dearly, and her husband will discuss this but they can only talk about what the borg has defined for them, if you try to get “deep” you can see the bulb dim and the spacey glaze start in their eyes. To them digging deeper and getting educated is too hard, so they are perfectly happy lazily living in ignorant bliss.

After Armeggedon

iirc, there were some pieces here (or links) to what life might actually be like after a catastrophic armageddon.

they read like the scripts of sci-fi post-apocalypse films.. .

bearing in mind that the whole basis of the jw religion is apocalyptic, do most/any dubs think of the practicalities beyond 'i'd like to live in that big house'?

Witlesses in their ignorant bliss neglect to acknowledge that if all the worldlies are destroyed, who's going to run the infrastructure? What good are the things you've been coveting if the air is filled with the stench of death and there's no clean water, fuel, electricity, waste removal or food?

The canned answer is usually, "Oh, jayhoover's gonna take care of that; all we have to do is clean up and "study" with the resurrected ones."

Really??? If that's the case, why doesn't jayhoover, who's so powerful he can destroy humanity, clean up the mess or just kill all the worldlies without making a mess in the first place?

Besides that:

Is he going to keep infrastructure going while all the "survivors", who never got any formal education, learn how to run things? Since there will be more dying than surviving, are the dead bodies going to magically disappear? Or is he going to sanitize the corpses while we take months to try and bury the dead? Is jayhoover going to make us impervious to deadly bacteria when sewage leaks out of destroyed pipes (containment) into the ground/clean water? Where is he going to send all the new waste, garbage and sewage? Is jayhoover going to heal all injuries when there are no doctors or medical facilities directly after the big A?

Either he's gonna have to step up, or they need to start getting use to living like ancient nomadic dirt farmers.

i've written a new article on what some jehovah's witnesses plan on doing after armageddon strikes.

i am sure you've been around witnesses that have said something like "oh i'm moving into that house after armageddon.".

Wouldn't this fall under the label of covetousness, something witlesses are explicitly told not to do?

Regardless of the evil one's being destroyed, coveting anything of someone else's is a big bible no-no.

Just more evidence of their hypocrisy!
